Since 2015, Skylight has worked with and documented the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival to show that unity from the bottom can change the political, economic, and moral structures of our nation. From an early organizing drive in Selma, Alabama to the Campaign’s dynamic launch with 40 days of action in the Spring of 2018, we have produced and collaborated on over a dozen short video pieces that have helped to build and strengthen the Campaign.
Skylight has long-standing relationships with poor and homeless grassroots organizers and their allies, including Liz Theoharis, co-chair of the Poor People’s Campaign with whom we have worked since the 1990s when we produced the Skylight trilogy “Living Broke in Boom Times”, about poor and homeless people who decided to form a movement to speak for themselves. We are proud to help build the ideas and experience that the current Poor People’s Campaign is based upon.
