The first time a documentary film about the genocide in Guatemala was translated and dubbed into Maya-Ixil, the native language of one of the Indigenous groups most affected by the armed conflict. Told from the perspective of Matilde Terraza, a young emerging leader from the Ixil community and the coordinator of the translation project, the film brings to the surface the ongoing work to preserve collective memory in Guatemala, as well as the profound resilience of the Ixil community—14.5% of whom were killed during the armed conflict.
