21 Jul Gustavo Hincapié Vera

Gustavo Adolfo Hincapié Vera is a Colombian documentary film director, producer, and writer. He is a Mentor for Skylight’s SolidariLabs program. For more than 15 years he has traveled through many regions of Colombia documenting personal testimonies from the armed conflict, especially in rural areas. His work helps to make visible community-based efforts to generate new spaces for debate and reflection about the conflict in different social settings.

He is co-director of the audiovisual collective Producciones El Retorno and the Escuela de Creación Documental which teaches audiovisual storytelling forms to rural youth in municipalities throughout the northwestern Colombian department of Antioquia.
