Jennifer Trone has more than 20 years of professional experience in the nonprofit sector, helping organizations use communications strategically to spread insights, influence and inspire others, and garner support. She has been the lead author or guiding editor for countless publications, including groundbreaking reports; has partnered with visual artists to create works that engage people on more than one level; was involved in launching several nonprofit ventures; and has helped established organizations assess their activities and outcomes and plan for the future.
Working as a consultant since 2008, her clients include nonprofit organizations, government agencies, foundations and academic institutions. Prior to working independently, she was communications advisor to the first Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court Luis Moreno-Ocampo, communications director for a U.S. prison commission, and before that, a senior staff member at the Vera Institute of Justice. She began her career in book publishing and is a graduate of Oberlin College.
Jennifer’s relationship with Skylight stretches back more than a decade and includes serving as a consulting producer on “The Reckoning” (2009), the feature-length documentary film about the International Criminal Court. Jennifer joined the Skylight Board of Directors in 2014 as a founding member.
