Ken Grossinger
Ken Grossinger has been a leader in the movement for social and economic justice for more than 30 years. He is a principal in Democracy Partners (DP), a strategic consulting firm where he directs the Impact Philanthropy division. In addition to serving as a Principal with DP, Ken is co-founder and Chair of the CrossCurrents Foundation (CCF) which funds work at the intersection of art and social justice.  In particular, CCF supports wide ranging documentary films that fuel social change. It is in this capacity that he came to know and support Skylight’s work. Most recently, Grossinger served as Co-Executive Producer of The Bleeding Edge, an Emmy & George Polk award winning film by Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering (Netflix). Ken was leading strategist in the labor movement, representing workers in the Service Employees International Union for ten years by conducting contract negotiations and running local, state and national legislative, political and organizing campaigns.  During the next decade he directed legislative field operations for the AFL-CIO, focusing on large-scale issue campaigns from Social Security and health care reform to civil rights. Grossinger is widely regarded as an expert in pioneering national field strategies for labor and non-profit organizations and he is well known for building long-enduring alliances between the two. Grossinger serves on several boards including the Alliance for Justice (Chair), University of the District of Columbia (Trustee), The TYPE Media center (F.K.A. the Nation Institute), and Global Greengrants Fund. Ken is currently serving as an executive producer for Skylight’s new documentary Borderlands.
