[:en]I am a current research assistant at Skylight Pictures, aiding with the research necessary for the upcoming film “500 Years.” I am originally from Los Angeles, California, where I was raised within an immigrant Guatemalan family. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and International Relations from the University of California, Davis and am currently working on a Master’s degree at the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) at New York University. Besides advocating for human rights in Guatemala and Latin America, my research interests are on the relationship between literary and cultural production of the Guatemalan and Central American diaspora in the U.S. with that of the isthmus.
